From Bologna to Cavicchio, along Mater Dei Route

Have you ever thought of being able to go from Bologna to Cavicchio or vice versa, on foot or by bike? Perhaps immersed in nature and enjoying the beautiful views that the Colli Bolognesi offer.

It is possible today thanks to the Via Mater Dei, inaugurated in 2019. The first stage starts right from the famous Quadrilatero of Bologna, right in the center.

Passing through the suggestive portico of San Luca (the longest in the world!) you arrive at the homonymous sanctuary, from which you continue to the Cavaioni Park (perfect stop for refreshment in a vast meadow, or for a small picnic).

It starts again crossing the famous hills from which you can admire all of Bologna. Descending from Paderno you arrive directly at Fondovalle Savena, from which, via a cycle/pedestrian path, you can easily reach our beautiful Agriturismo.

Here you can finally relax in our swimming pool, drink a glass of our wine or simply enjoy nature and the peace that surrounds us.

It is also possible to take the same route in reverse (starting from Cavicchio in Bologna), using the bus to go back (the bus stop is only a 10-minute walk from our agritourism).
